Brian W. Evans is an artist who creates minimalist installations using electronic media to explore the utility of semi-intelligent objects. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Art and Area Coordinator for the Sculpture Program at Metropolitan State College of Denver. In 2008, he received an MFA in Art at California State University, Long Beach where he taught an interdisciplinary course in electronics and mechanics for artists.
His work has been shown at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park, the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, and the CSULB University Art Museum. He is the designer of a recently released microcontroller adapted from the Arduino platform and actively contributes to the Open Source Hardware community, having presented his work at Dorkbot SoCal and the Banff New Media Institute, as well as editing the Arduino Programming Notebook.
